new connection

hi folks,
I know it is long time no see, but I was changing my internet service provider from Hotwire to MTNL. The debut was inauspicious as it conked within minutes of starting. After adjusting settings, wires etc many times over I called 1504. The nice chap ( I forgot to ask his name) asked me to take out the wires, reboot. Did'nt work. Then opened a website, somehow the format didnt match, so he asked me the router etc, excused a few minutes to see its settings and came back. Even now he kept on insisiting that I see some 'advanced' tab whence I could see none. Then he asked if I had changed the password, I said I did. Oh, that must be the reason as you didnt save it! So I was gently guided into changing all the settings. I was just congratulating myself for knowing all the needed settings on Day One of the new connection, it still didnt work. Then he tested my new password and it showed that it had been saved! Now, now, I suggested may be reverting back to the standard password may help. Mr nice guy did the needful for me as I could not open the site. When it still didnt work we decided to call it a day at about 12.35am and he promised to forward my complaint.

Today on returning after an evening with friends again the net connected for a few minutes and then conked. I called friends and after a few attempts called 1504. This time again I replugged and rebooted and till now, cross my fingers, and yours too, its still working, but I smell many more adventures in the offing....
